It is a misconception that Microsoft will secure the backup of your mailboxes. Microsoft only guarantee availability and keep deleted or removed items for 14 days.
To combat this, we offer a very cost-effective solution to backup users’ mailboxes, with a copy of the data kept for 12 months. Doing this protects important email data from accidental or malicious deletion, or a failure from the Microsoft servers, which can often be discovered too late to be recovered within the standard Microsoft 14-day availability.
