Would YOU click on the link in this image?
This looks like it has come from Facebook, right? It’s just one example of the many fake notifications being sent to businesses on their social accounts. Would you know what to look for or would you get spooked by the urgency of this message and click the link? Unfortunately we are hearing of a lot of business owners who are unwittingly clicking these links and getting their accounts hacked.
In fact as of September 2022 the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have had over 14m scams reported across social media, text, emails and telephone calls. This has resulted in 100k scams being removed across 184,000 urls.
Don’t let it happen to you – if you didn’t turn on your 2 Factor Authentication after reading our recent post – do it today!
Better still – sign up to our Phishing Email Training: We copy the style of the latest phishing emails, replicate them and send them out to your employees in a controlled way. Instead of the links going to something dangerous, we can take them to safe spoof pages or set friendly warning pages. We then monitor and report on how users interact with these potentially dangerous emails. We repeat the campaign three months later to compare and review the results.
Of course, it’s never a one size fits all – we speak with you and tailor our approach to the business and ensure that the spoof emails are believable.
We love seeing how our clients grow in confidence when knowing how to spot if an email is fake. Those who have done it rave about its impact. Join them today.
